Linking Canberra with the southern New South Wales town of Adaminaby the Boboyan Road passes through the Namadgi National Park. MMB has provided extensive detail surveys and drawings of 19kms of road to facilitate the upgrading design.
Surveying work involved detailing for design of road and bridges and Quality Assurance monitoring. We were required to provide detail - location surveys of specific items at critical time points during the construction. Our tasks included placing bench marks, survey of pavement subgrade, footings, column locations and bridge sill beam levels. We were also engaged to locate and lift manhole lids to obtain invert levels and pipe sizes and directions.
Various detail surveys, centreline design and track and barrier setouts for crowd safety were the focus of our work for this project. Working on a project that had to transform every day streets into a racing track where drivers would be speeding past national icons was an exciting challenge to be part of.
